Zimbabwe makes moves toward circular construction.

Last week in Zimbabwe, EU Africa RISE launched a new initiative to improve circular business practices in the construction sector across the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

The event brought together representatives from governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia to discuss ways of supporting Zimbabwe's journey towards a circular economy. The European Union and other multilateral organizations are backing the project.

The aim is to increase awareness of circular economy opportunities and models that the private sector in the construction industry could apply. The initial phase of the project will concentrate on generating knowledge and learning from Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, with plans for sharing and disseminating this information across SADC.

Sustainability Games

Circle Economy, a non-profit organization that promotes the transition to a circular economy, has recently acquired Sustainability Games.

Sustainability Games is an e-learning platform that addresses the green skills gap and provides education on sustainable development and the circular economy. The platform uses gamified learning to teach important concepts, which can help businesses and organizations to upskill their staff and improve their sustainability practices.

By combining their expertise in circular economy with Sustainability Games' gamification approach, Circle Economy hopes to provide a more engaging and effective way to educate and empower individuals and organizations in the transition to a circular economy.

Annual conference on Tire Recycling

The 28th Annual ETRA Conference on Tyre Recycling is scheduled to take place in Brussels from Wednesday to Friday, 29-31 March 2023.

The conference is a hub for knowledge sharing on tire management, technical innovations, and trends in global efforts for tire recycling. With its numerous conference sessions, exhibitions, and networking and social opportunities, it offers essential insights into the future of the industry.

We look forward to hearing from Dr. Mehran Zarrebini who is one of the many experts presenting at the conference. Interested? View the programme and register to get involved!
